Lucerne is building on the lake
Lucerne, a small-town city accustomed to tourism, relies on high-profile architects. With the Culture and Convention Centre (KKL) by Jean Nouvel, the lakeside city boasts an architectural gem of international renown. The cantilevered roof seems to protect the tranquil town while simultaneously framing the view across the shimmering lake to the nearby mountains. Within walking distance, further architectural treasures can be admired in the city center around the train station or in the old town behind the lakeside promenade.
At the same time, the city is expanding beyond its municipal boundaries. Cultural attractions are emerging, such as the music academy in the south, and the city is also becoming more densely populated in the north: former industrial buildings now house the art academy.
Our tour offerings are not limited to the larger Swiss cities. Discover with us the architectural highlights in smaller towns, in the surrounding areas, or in the countryside.
